The basic idea of your application project
iPad has been the long awaiting solution for traditional magazines to go digital.
For an online news and consumer service we have turned this idea the other way around: Taking online only content and building a brand new magazine for iPad. Now we can reach out to a dedicated audience within our traditional readers and give them exclusive and premium content. It is also a way of make a new commercial market for advertisers.
Here we have systematised and collected material within the consumer section for cars and turned into a great guide. We have taken the best from the web and further developed and customized content to a new and exciting digital platform.
The first edition of the iPad app is a family car guide, where we review the five best-selling station wagons in 2010 and some of the contenders.
We think it has become an attractive magazine with great value, whether you are considering buying a family car, wants to keep up with trends or be inspired. Some of the articles will be found in the online version as well, but separately.

  Results of the application implementation
The first week our app has been listed in Top 10 paid apps for iPad in iTunes App Store, an has sold nearly 1000.
The idea is to publish new issues every two or three weeks as in-app purchases, and use push notification to those who have downloaded the app.
Whenever there is a new issue, we think there is a potensial of reaching out to new users, and over time gain a wider audience.
