Der Fußball ist stärker. „The beautiful game“, wie die Briten dieses wunderbar schlichte, aber auch so herrlich komplizierte Mannschafts- und Ballspiel nennen, übersteht alle Kommerzialisierungs- und Kolonisierungsattacken. Der Fußball lebt nicht von der Fifa und nicht von den VIPs in ihren Logen. Das Spiel lebt von den Fans in den Kurven und vor den Leinwänden. Der Tagesspiegel hat die WM 2006 in Deutschland als Ereignis für diese Fans begriffen. Deshalb haben wir uns mit „11 Freunde“ zusammengetan, dem Magazin, das aus der Tiefe der Fußball-Gemeinde kommt. Gemeinsam mit Deutschlands bestem Fußball-Magazin haben wir vom 9. Juni bis zum 9. Juli das WM-Magazin „11 Freunde täglich“ herausgegeben, das an jedem Spieltag dem Tagesspiegel beilag. "11 Freunde täglich" verband die Spielfreude des Magazins mit der Schnelligkeit der Tageszeitung. Sowohl inhaltlich als auch gestalterisch. Mit Genres von der doppelseitigen Reportage bis zur Mini-Rubrik "Mitreden können". Mit dem doppelseitigen "Bild des Tages" als Poster bis zu kleinteiligen analytischen Grafiken.
Profilierte Kolumnisten waren dabei. Der Fernsehreporter Marcel Reif hat kommentiert, Campino von den „Toten Hosen“ und der Bestseller-Autor Jan Weiler haben ihr persönliches WM-Tagebuch geführt. Die Tagesspiegel-Reporter Harald Martenstein, Helmut Schümann und Axel Vornbäumen sind auf Deutschland-Reise gegangen. 11-Freunde-Chefredakteur Philipp Köster hat in seiner Kolumne "Steilpass" die WM aus der Sicht der wahren Fans verfolgt. Tagesspiegel-Kolumnistin Esther Kogelboom hat Stilfragen kommentiert. Günter Netzter hat in der letzten Ausgabe exklusiv für uns die WM resümiert.
„11 Freunde täglich“ erschien im handlichen Tabloid-Format. Auf mindestens 20 Seiten fanden unsere Leser dort alles, was Sie für jeden WM-Spieltag brauchten: Die große Vorschau auf die Spiele des Tages mit der täglichen Taktikschule des ausgewiesenen Fußball-Experten Mathias Klappenbach. In Kooperation mit dem Hauptstadtmagazin „Zitty“ haben wir zudem die Orte aufgelistet, an denen es Live-Übertragungen auf Leinwänden gab. Im Mittelpunkt stand hier das 11-Freunde-WM-Quartier "Lido " in Kreuzberg, wo sich die Fußball-Community während der WM zum Fußballgucken traf. Dazu empfahlen wir gute Kneipen, in denen Fußball gezeigt wird, Partys nach dem Abpfiff oder Ausstellungen und Lesungen, in denen es um das schöne Spiel geht - jenseits des Kommerz-Overkills. |

Football is stronger. “The beautiful game”, as the British call this wonderfully simple, yet oh so marvellously complicated team ball game, has survived all the attacks of commercialisation and colonisation. Football does not owe its survival to FIFA and not to the VIPs sitting in their boxes. The game owes its survival to the fans on the terraces and in front of the big screens. Tagesspiegel understood that World Cup 2006 was an event for these fans. For this reason we teamed up with 11 Freunde, the magazine from the heart of the football community. Together with Germany’s best football magazine, from 9 June until 9 July we published the World Cup magazine 11 Freunde täglich, which appeared as a supplement to Tagesspiegel on every match day. 11 Freunde täglich associated the magazine’s sporting enthusiasm with the daily paper’s rapidity, in terms of both content and form. With genres from the double-page report to the mini "Mitreden können (have your say)" heading. With the two-page “Image of the Day” as a poster to the extremely detailed analytical graphics.
High-profile columnists were on board. Television reporter Marcel Reif provided commentary, Campino from the band “Tote Hosen” and bestselling author Jan Weiler wrote their personal World Cup diaries. 11 Freunde täglich was published in a handy tabloid format. On at least 20 pages, our readers found everything they needed there for every World Cup match day: the big preview of the day’s matches with daily tactical tips from proven football expert Mathias Klappenbach. In cooperation with Zitty city magazine, we also listed the places where the live broadcasts could be seen on big screens. The focus here was the 11 Freunde World Cup district of "Lido" in Kreuzberg, where the football community gathered to watch football during the World Cup. We also recommended good pubs where football was being shown, parties after the final whistle or exhibitions and readings all about the beautiful game – beyond the commercial overkill. |
