Product and service quality is frequently cited as the foundation of quality at newspaper publishing houses. Put simply, the ISO 9001:2000 international standard defines quality as the capacity to evaluate customer satisfaction and take into account their criticism. The media have lost a number of their traditional indicators in this time of far-reaching change, but the ISO standard is successfully re-focusing the discussion on this basic criterion.
