Amazon’s Kindle 2 sizzles

The Amazon Kindle 2

The second e-reader from Amazon is a much better device – a sizzling wireless, top-notch book reader. So why are consumers buying it, while most media professionals remain sceptical?

With the first Kindle launch, Amazon convinced consumers, thanks to offering the right service, and easy payment and delivery, as well as great content. This time every aspect of the offering is better, plus it includes an iPhone application for book reading, which makes the phone and Kindle a perfect pair.

U.S. sales numbers are impressive and way beyond any other attempts in this field. Why? Because users are reading on the device – and not because of its technical specs. I strongly believe Amazon has succeeded in creating a love relationship with users. So why should publishers care? Because – these are early days when this market is being defined and its rules and players are created. I believe you should be a part of this.
