IFRA Board Member Mohamed K. Alayyan

Mohamed K. Alayyan is the publisher and CEO of Al Ghad newspaper.

Mohamed Alayyan is the Publisher and CEO of Al Ghad newspaper; Jordan’s most independent Arabic daily newspaper. Less than a year since its launch date, Al Ghad has captured the second largest readership market share, and built the largest network of subscribers.

He entered the media industry in 1998, when he established Al Waseet weekly classifed newspaper in Jordan. The publication’s weekly circulation exceeds 200,000 copies, and a leading reach of 2 million readers on a weekly basis.

He established Al Faridah Specialized Printing, which publishes Layalina, JO, Ahlan and Teen World magazines. Mohamed is also a board member in Al Kawn for Advertisements & Media, which launched the first independent radio station Fann FM. He serves as chairman in several media companies, including outdoor media as well.

Recently, he established the first independent terrestrial and satellite, free to air channel in Jordan. ATV, began airing in 2006, and is a 24- hour operation targeting audiences in Jordan and the Arab world. ATV transmits programming that offers a mix of current affairs programmes, entertainment, talk/variety shows, movies and sports.

He is a member of the International Advertising Association (IAA), the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), The Young Entrepreneurs Association (YEA), and the Young Arab Leaders(YAL).

He is also a board member of INJAZ for the Creation of Economic Opportunities For Jordanian Youth. Recently, he was appointed by Royal Decree into the National Agenda Steering Committee.

The National Agenda Committee’s objectives embody the overall national vision, and sets strategies and plans to which successive governments will be committed.

Additionally, he serves on the Board of Microfund for Women, Tkiyet Um Ali “Food for Life,” Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, and Jordan Investment Board (JIB).

He joined the IFRA Board in 2006.
