IFRA Board Member Terry Grote

Terry Grote is Managing Director for The Independent & Independent on Sunday.

A newspaperman of 30 years experience, he began his career as a reporter on weekly regional newspapers rising through various editorships to become Editorial Director and then Chief Executive of a large London regional group.

He joined Independent News & Media in 1992 as CEO of IN&M’s U.K. regional newspapers and when the company acquired The Independent in 1998 was appointed Operations Director, before becoming Managing Director two years later.

He has recently completed a term as Chairman of the U.K. National Newspapers trade association and has represented the industry and his company on a number of working groups throughout his career.

He joined the IFRA Board in 2004.
