FAIRFAX MEDIA PURCHASES NATIONAL ATEX MULTIMEDIA PUBLISHING SOLUTION

With nearly 3,500 seats believed to be one of the largest centrally hosted publishing systems in the world / Major publishing infrastructure upgrade to facilitate new multimedia opportunities
Sydney, 26 April 2007: Fairfax Media announced today that it has contracted with Atex for the delivery of a national multimedia advertising and content management system to service all its Australian operations.
The upgrade to Fairfax Media's current system will consolidate all editorial and advertising systems used at Fairfax Media in Australia. The system will encompass nearly 3,500 seats centrally supported from a host in Sydney with business continuance servers at the company's Sydney print site at Chullora.
With 1,500 advertising and 2,000 content management seats, this is believed to be one of the largest centrally hosted publishing systems in the world.
Fairfax Media CEO David Kirk said, "With this investment Fairfax Media is positioning itself to be the most efficient and effective digital and multimedia publishers.
