Mobile e-reading – the future of newspapers on e-paper based devices
Launched in 2005, eNews was IFRA’s first Executive Programme. It was set up in response to the emerging mobile e-reading media market. The programme is about creating business opportunities based on early consumer behaviour in this market. Through the programme, member publishers and technology developers are able to build their understanding of the new and changing needs of consumers, to create and sustain business, take control and adapt to new technology.
The popularity of the original programme, called eNews 2008, was such that a second programme, called eNews 2010 was set up in 2007. Each programme runs over three years, with six seminars held in total, two of them in conjunction with focus tours. Through eNews, its members are gaining access to front players in e-reading technology as well as digital/mobile media, and are kept up-to-date with the very latest developments in this market globally. As in all Executive Programmes, professional workshops constitute a vital part of the learning experience, as does the networking with peers from around the world.
In partnership with four of the member publishers in the eNews 2008 group, IFRA carried out a ground breaking global consumer test on newspapers in e-readers, in the spring of 2008. Click here to read the press release.
