The “Walk with The Moscow News” special project http://www.themoscownews.com/ournews/ was launched by an English language city newspaper together with a British journalist Phoebe Taplin, a contributor of articles to “TMN”, the author of a seasonal Moscow guides (titled Autumn, Winter, Spring and Sum-mer) series.

Idea and Implementation of your special project |

The first walk with a picnic and an excursion around the historical premises took place on May 26 in Kolomenskoye Park. The project has its free Facebook group http://www.facebook.com/events/304197306328122/ announcing the coming walks and tours around the city, instructing on the itinerary, etc. The first walk gathered 15 persons mainly representing the newspaper’s audience (expats living in Moscow) and staff.
It’s supposed that such events will happen monthly on a regular basis welcoming everyone who would like to stroll around the most beautiful and visit-worthy places of the city chosen by Phoebe, making them a good and useful opportunity and pastime for the readers and TMN team members to socialize and interact in a relaxed and pleasant environment, to strengthen the loyalty and foster interest to the newspaper, on the one hand, and to pick TMN readers’ brain and comments on the newspaper’s publications and reopen local amenities as seen through foreigner’s eyes, on the other hand.
