  Blick am Abend Facebook Page

  General Publication Info
Blick am Abend is Switzerland's only evening paper. Every weekday evening Blick am Abend keeps readers informed with up-to-the-minute news and entertains them with surprising stories. Blick am Abend is inspiring, exciting and provides solid tips for evening leisure activities. These exclusive features have paid off, as evidenced by a significant increase in circulation. As a result of successfully expanding the distribution area to include the five regions of Basel, Berne, Lucerne, St. Gallen and Zurich in addition to numerous product and distribution improvements, the readership has increased by another 31,000 to a current total of 635,000 readers.

  Content
On our Blick am Abend Facebook page, we publish different content forms to increase user engagement (e.g., the picture of the day where we ask Facebook users to write a headline for this picture. The best headline then appears in our print issue together with the picture). In addition, we post questionnaires & contests. Further content includes funny videos from our editorial team, links to interesting articles on our website (www.blick.ch) or the daily Blick am Abend ePaper.

  Implementation and Working team
Due to our integrated newsroom at Ringier, our Blick am Abend editorial team is in charge of all Blick am Abend news channels, which include the print-, online-, mobile app- as well as all social media-channels (e.g., Facebook, Google+, Twitter). Further, our digital media & marketing teams are involved in running the Blick am Abend Facebook page (e.g., when it comes to corporate identity & design, running marketing campaigns or promotions as well as monitoring the success of our Facebook page and the like).
The Blick am Abend Facebook page was introduced to our readers on June 12th, 2009. Blick am Abend follows a multi-channel content strategy, which integrates our print, online, mobile app-, as well as social media-channels (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Google+). In daily operations, one editor is in charge to coordinate all social-media activities on these channels. One example of our implementation of a cross-channel content strategy is our daily column "Picture of the Day" which links our Blick am Abend Facebook page to our print publication. Specifically, users are asked to write a headline for the picture of the day, the best headline then appears in the print issue (see Ronaldo example below).
