  General Publication Info
The unique platform retter.tv combines local news content, provided by fire brigades, emergency and rescue services, with special interest topics and professional information. The web portal facilitates communication, public dialogue and the exchange of knowledge, experience and information, thus enabling members of emergency and rescue services to present their work and their news to the interested public.
Organisations can showcase their work on retter.tv by creating a public profile and independently publish content (text, images and video) that can also be distributed across social media channels. By featuring the functions provided by Facebook-Connect, retter.tv offers extensive options for linking and connecting content to the social network. By now, about 60% of the total traffic originates from Facebook and Twitter. The Facebook Page sees a weekly growth of about 1,200 new fans and has currently attained a total of 55,000 fans.
In addition, various associations, corporations and industry experts use retter.tv to publish news and information that is relevant to emergency and rescue organisations. Supplemental editorial content, mainly short web-TV reports, are produced for industry events and topics of particular interest by a team of experts and freelance contributors.
retter.tv is a project of Mediengruppe Pressedruck and based in Augsburg, Germany.

Idea and Implementation of your special project
The idea for retter.tv was born when complaints by various emergency and rescue organisations were observed, pointing out that they had insufficient possibilities to publish their content as the daily media often only portrayed a fraction of the crucial information in the organisations’ opinion. Simultaneously, conversations with associations and hosts of industry events disclosed that these stakeholders were also demanded additional communication channels for their issues.
By closely linking local news to professional information, retter.tv was able to quickly establish a substantial position at the significant industry events and conferences. In the meantime, retter.tv has been named the official partner of the most important trade shows in Germany. Being appointed the official media partner, retter.tv attained its initial major cooperation with the leading trade show INTERSCHUTZ with 125,000 attendees, for which it developed and produced the cross-media news coverage INTERSCHUTZ LIVE which consisted of a printed trade show journal (2x 60,000 copies), a web-TV channel and reports from organisations and visitors. The content was summarised and published online on a separate landing page: interschutz.retter.tv. A news aggregator was used to collect all tweets, YouTube-videos and the most important online articles and display them to the users. Widgets were used to link the media coverage on the official websites of the trade show.
retter.tv is now used by organisations and businesses for targeted campaigns, for example to advertise product tests, social media sweepstakes or industry news. Separate sections for special topics are used to raise attention and bundle the relevant content for targeted audiences

  Project results and results monitoring
More than 450 registered organisations, associations and 8,000 individual members use retter.tv to report news and exchange content referring to their work. The community on Facebook and Twitter continues its steady growth and currently features 55,000 fans(+1.200 each week), who contribute to the success by virally spreading the content of retter.tv throughout the web. retter.tv generates more than 500,000 weekly impressions on Facebook. Online is also growing with 220.000 Visits per month(90.000 last year).
