INCQC 2002-2004 General Print Quality Assessment from Normal Production Copies
Thank you for all your efforts in participating in the International Newspaper Color Quality Club 2002-2004.
February has come to an end and the important phase of collecting seven copies of each day's newspaper has also ended.
After conferring, Ifra, NAA and PANPA have jointly decided on asking for the seven copies from the following three days of February's production:
Monday 11 February 2002 Tuesday 19 February 2002 Wednesday 27 February 2002

In case of production difficulties that may have prevented you from reaching your normally high quality levels on one of these days, please contact Ifra or NAA. We can probably suggest a 'work around' for this problem.

16 colour quality test strip.
For compulsory reproduction as part of the INCQC evaluation. Used to determine the newspaper's colour gamut size, greybalance and tone value increase for each ink.

For the production of an ICC print profile - a key element in a Color Management System (CMS)

Greybalance test pattern.
For determining the greybalance characteristic of your combined newspaper platemaking and printing operation.

Halftone step wedge for each of the four process inks.
A halftone control strip for printing that forms the basis for the measurement, calculation and graphing of the dot gain for each of the four process inks.

Tone value increase and equalisation utility.
Updated MS Excel spreadsheet that can be used as an aid in calculating and graphically showing the dot gain for each of the four process inks.

As an aid in setting and equalising the pressure between inking forme rollers and the printing plate.

New color difference formula, CIE DE 2000.

Colorimetric measurements.
MS Excel spreadsheet that can be used to calculate the points awarded for the different colorimetric/densitometric measurements. It is identical in function to that used in the INCQC 2002 evaluation. Filename: INCQC_2002_Points_E.xls

INCQC logo.
